Kantipur FM Radio is a Nepalese FM radio station established in October 1998 as a first private fm station in Nepal and is currently operating in the east, central and mid western development regions.

Radio Nepal was established on 1st April 1951. Initially, the transmission covered duration of 4 hours and 30 minutes through a 250 Watt SW transmitter. Over the years, Radio Nepal has strengthened its institutional capacity considerably and diversified itself in terms of programme format, technical efficiency and coverage. Radio Nepal airs programmes on Short Wave, Medium Wave and FM frequencies. Regular broadcasts cover duration of 18 hours everyday which includes 3 hours and 15 minutes of regional broadcasts 09:45 hrs. to 11:00 hrs. in the morning and 16:00 hrs 18:00 hrs in the evening. BFM 91.2 is Biratnagar based radio station run under Birat Shree Media Network Pvt. Ltd which was registered in the Company Registrar Office on 29th Ashar 2063 and obtained license No. FM 123/063/064 to run a radio station of 500 watt capacity on the 91.2 MHz frequency from the Ministry of Information and Communication on 6th Bhadra 2063.
The Management Committee of BFM 91.2 comprises of Dr. Gyanendra Man Singh Karki as Chairman, Mr. Indra Khatri (Rajan) as Director and Mr. Sandesh Dass Shrestha as Executive Director.
BFM started its test transmission from 9th Magh 2063 (23rd January 2007) and started its 18 hour regular transmission from 1st Baishak 2064.

Ilam FM is the pioneer community radio station of Mechi Region. It holds the history as a first local radio station of Ilam district which is launched on 31st Baisak 2064 by Mai Pokhari Communication Media Co-operative organization Limited after its establishment in 2063 B.S. Ilam FM is located in Ilam Municipality Ward no. - 2, Shikarnagar which has its contact office in the heart of Ilam bazaar that is in Ilam municipality Bhanupath and in Annamnagar, Kathmandu, Nepal. The transmission capacity of Ilam FM is of 500-watt capacity having excellent coverage in eastern region of Nepal and some part of India like Darjelling and Sikkim. Every week 267 programs are aired with a varieties of local languages with local flavor.
